Canada's Telecommunications Hall of Fame welcomes members of the Canadian telecommunications industry wishing to participate as volunteers in the many activities of our three core programs: The Telecom Laureates Program, the Education Program and the Outreach Program.

Your decision to volunteer as a Friend of the Hall of Fame in 2009 will offer you a very fulfilling way to promote our industry and inform Canadians young and old about the world-class achievements of the Canadian telecom sector over the past 165years. Canada's Telecommunications Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit corporation that relies on the support and commitment of dedicated individuals who wish to better the public profile and understanding of the Canadian telecommunications industry. Already, volunteer support from industry representatives have allowed Canada's Telecommunications Hall of Fame to assemble two blue-ribbon committees to preside over our annual selection of our Hall of Fame Laureates, and to announce industry leaders to our Hall of Fame Foundation Board of Governors. In addition, some 400 individuals involved in Canadian telecom, many of them well-known members of our industry,  attend our Telecom Laureate Awards induction ceremonies and gala dinners and our Hall of Fame announcement events each year.

In 2009, Canada's Telecommunications Hall of Fame is seeking individuals from all corners of our industry to assist us as volunteer Friends of the Hall of Fame in the following roles:

1) The 2009 Hall of Fame Media Reception at which the names of our Class of 2009 Telecom Laureates will be announced to the public.
 Request more Information

2) The 2009 Telecom Laureate Awards - October 28th, 2009, Grand Hall, Canadian Museum of Civilization, Gatineau, Quebec: We would welcome interest from individuals from the Canadian telecom industry wishing to join an industry committee to help us plan the staging of our biggest event of the year! Request more Information

3) Telecom Hall of Fame Industry Advisory Board - We are seeking 8 to 12 individuals from the Canadian telecom industry whose experience and expertise can assist the Hall of Fame, work with us to liaise with all corners of the industry and help to guide the development of our programs and the evolution of the Hall of Fame. Request more Information

4) The Education Program and the Outreach Program - If you agree that Canadians and those beyond our borders should be better informed about the history and heritage of our telecommunications industry, please consider volunteering to help us promote these core programs. We require 8 to 12 individuals from the industry to help us promote the industry's 165-year legacy of success stories and unsung heroes within Canada and around the world.
Request more Information

5) Telecom Hall of Fame Foundation Board of Governors - Canada's Telecommunications Hall of Fame Foundation is the not-for-profit federally-incorporated and registered charitable corporation that serves as the independent fund-raising arm of the Hall of Fame. The work of the Hall of Fame Foundation is directed by a volunteer Board of Governors.  Several members of the Foundations's Board of Governors have already been appointed and the remaining members will be recruited in 2009. The Board of Governors will be comprised of leading figures from the Canadian telecommunications industry, past and present, and will be widely representative of all sectors of the telecommunications industry. Typically, Hall of Fame Governors will be heads of telecom industry associations, senior government representatives involved in the telecommunications sector, retired senior executives from the telecom industry and others whose prior experience and/or expertise in the sector make them appropriate candidates to serve on the Board of Governors and senior executives of Canadian telecom companies in the services and equipment sectors .
