Educational Materials

The Education Program of Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame will assess the possibility of developing and distributing telecommunications educational materials for students as well as educational resources and CD-ROMs concerning the history and heritage of Canada’s telecommunications industry. These materials could be distributed to schools, universities, colleges, libraries, and science centres. We will consult with the Canadian educational publishing industry and secondary and primary school teachers and other educators to gauge interest in the materials. In addition, we hope to expand the reach of excellent existing programs and materials that have already been introduced by leading telecom companies in Canada.

By way of example, Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame is well-positioned to prepare educational kits that would permit teachers to develop their own classes on the history and heritage, and the success and achievements of Canadian telecommunications. Our educational materials could include the following:
